This is my entry for the last CGChallenge XXII• Uplift Universe •Alien Relations. The story short behind the pic and my challenge theme was:"When Greor S. woke up, he found himself in his bed in another room ... his "utter world".He thought by himself: ...this is when your dreams are shifting endlessly and your obsessions are haunting visitors trough your sleepless nights...then you got uplifted by aliens in your brain..."
I've done it in PainterX and Photoshop CS3. To see the story how it was done visit my blog here and the thread for and during the challenge:

Gregor S. meets the grim reaper

I thought its time to work on the theme of Gregor Samsa's nightmare once again. So I went to one of my previous pictures "In the Woods" to give it the perception of "Gregor S. meets the grim reaper"
(which he isn't so far... its more like a "deadhead"-merlin !...) ...in the woods.
Also see my blog
Cheers

I've done this Sketch some time ago. It should reflect the Impressions of the bavarian and austrichian alps and the houses and cottages i often visited , when Ilived near the area in Munich. I tried to do it in the style of the local residental artists of this area whos watercolour paintings I've seen there.i've tried to add some dramatic effect in there ba composing and colouring.
Coloured Line Drawing done in Painter with Watercolurs and Chalk/ Pastels Brushes and various effects such as under and overpainting painting in special colours e.g. gold, metallics, neon.
Like it or not ?
Any comments much appreciated.
The idea was that it it should have been a real rough scribble with fast lines made by chalk and pastel pencils.the underpainting of the background as an "explosive sky" was added afterwards painted with soft and pastose chalks / pastels .. with several zooms/softening 'n' motion at last.
"good grief" for the new 2008 to everybody out there...
